Michael is a Vice President with nearly a decade of advisory, accounting, and process enhancement experience. He is excited to join the Accordion team in Dallas and provide his clients with exceptional service.
Before joining Accordion, Michael most recently worked as a consultant with accounting and finance teams of clients ranging in industry and size, from privately owned insurance companies to multinational retailers and global conglomerates. His clients have trusted him with projects to address their most important challenges. In recent years, this includes valuation services; project management & confidential work towards divestiture preparation; system integrations & ERP implementations; forensic accounting to recover material financial impact; early adoption of revenue accounting standards; and the implementation of data-driven tools for workflow automation as well as internal controls to strengthen the reliability and integrity of finance function and their deliverables. Between each of these unique projects, Michael has served his clients with confidence to tackle the challenge, and an eager appetite to learn something new.
Michael began his career in the audit & assurance group of Deloitte & Touche’s Dublin practice, where he was responsible for performing and reviewing audit procedures, drafting financial statements and reviewing financial transactions. During his time with Deloitte, he also had the unique opportunity to venture on a 9-month client-secondment, where he experienced life ‘on the other side’ for his client.
Michael takes pride in having a breadth of experiences across a wide range of industries, project roles, company sizes, and technical accounting frameworks. He is proficient in GAAP, IAS, and IFRS. Michael graduated from the University College Dublin with a degree in Economics, obtained his post-graduate diploma in Accounting from the Dublin Institute of Technology, and holds a Chartered Accountant designation certified by the Chartered Accountants Ireland regulatory body.
