Marcos Muiña is a Vice President with nearly 6 years of assurance, accounting, and advisory services experience with clients ranging from large national and multinational to local South Florida companies that span several industries such as consumer products, media, healthcare, and technology in the public and private sector.
With Accordion, Marcos has partnered with management and key stakeholders to support operational and technical accounting initiatives such as finance and accounting team assessments, month-end close acceleration, and control remediation. Additionally, he supported a large-scale treasury transformation, which resulted in increased cash availability and visibility while simultaneously reducing fees.
Before joining Accordion, Marcos spent 3 years with RSM US LLP working in their assurance practice. Marcos was involved in auditing all aspects of the financial statements such as revenue, inventory, and consolidations related to business combinations. He has also worked on performing quarterly reviews, testing internal controls, and performing inventory counts. As a result, Marcos gained an understanding of his client’s business, processes, and operations, allowing him to interpret financial statement transactions with a different lens.
Marcos started his financial accounting career as an intern at Ocean Bank in Miami, Florida where he was responsible for reviewing client financial information related to business loan applications. He prepared various financial ratios that were presented at board meetings for the approval of the loans.
Marcos graduated from Florida State University where he earned a B.S in Accounting and shortly after earned his CPA license in the state of Florida.
