Jonathan is a turnaround and restructuring advisor and senior executive with nearly 20 years of experience leading complex restructurings, operational turnarounds, and interim leadership engagements for companies, creditors, indenture trustees, and other stakeholders. His expertise spans developing financial and operating plans, liquidity management, restructuring solutions, contingency planning, and complex healthcare situations.
Jonathan’s select experience includes:
- Interim COO of a distressed independent physician group roll-up with 12 locations.
- Interim CFO of a distressed multispecialty primary care group, resulting in improved liquidity situation, and revenue cycle, and organizational improvement initiatives.
- Financial Advisor to over 20 senior living/CCRC projects with over $1.5 billion in debt on behalf of companies and bondholders, including project and market assessment, liquidity management, debt sizing, §363 sales, negotiations, and in- and out-of-court resolutions.
- Financial Advisor to publicly traded ACA and Medicare Advantage insurance plan and value-based care provider with over 500 thousand members.
- Financial Advisor to the secured lenders of a 150-thousand-member, $2.5 billion revenues value-based care provider group.
Debtor-side financial advisory to $160M revenue coal company, resulting in successful §363 sale of assets, negotiations with Department of Environmental Protection, bankruptcy administration and wind-down of estate.
Prior to Accordion, Jonathan served as Managing Director in Turnaround & Restructuring Services at BDO Consulting Group. In this role, he provided financial advisory and interim management services to companies within the healthcare and energy sectors.
Previously, Jonathan was a Managing Director and Senior Director at FTI Consulting. His work included assessing company strategy and plans, sales and marketing effectiveness, and organizational capabilities; building three‑statement projections and 13‑week cash flow forecasts; and supporting both in‑court and out‑of‑court asset sales. He developed recovery strategies, negotiated with stakeholders, and led cross‑functional teams while also helping to build and scale FTI’s healthcare restructuring practice.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand. He is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).
