Carson is an Associate with over four years of accounting experience primarily in auditing and financial reporting in the oil and gas industry. He has advised clients ranging from small private company to large SEC public companies.
Carson joined Accordion from Riley Permian Operating Company, where he was a financial reporting accountant. There, he drafted SEC financial statements, prepared closing journal entries, assisted with implementation of new accounting standards, and assisted in the execution of a reverse merger that took the company public. His other responsibilities included maintaining ownership of joint interest billing, revenue distribution, and financial reporting processes of RPOC subsidiary companies.
Prior to joining RPOC, Carson worked as a Senior Audit Associate with Grant Thornton, focusing on providing audit and assurance services to large energy clients as well as private clients of various sizes and industries. His primary responsibilities included planning and executing integrated financial statement audits, identifying risk of material misstatements to the client’s financial statements, evaluating and concluding on complex transactions, compliance with reporting requirements, and performing technical research and interpretation of authoritative literature in relation to adoption of new standards and regulations under U.S. GAAP. His other responsibilities included evaluating internal controls in compliance with provisions established by Sarbanes-Oxley.
Carson graduated with honors from Oklahoma Christian University with a B.A. in Accounting and Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant from the Oklahoma Accountancy Board and an active member of the AICPA.
